> the beautiful world: entry two

hiiii it's been like foreverrrr since i made a blog post. i was going to make one for hundred line but when i sat down to start with it i was like. literally where do i even start. i'm going to talk about it here, but there are also other things i've been enjoying lately too, and i am now going to talk about them!!

game: hundred line

hundred line is an incredibly crazy game with maybe the most varying mileage ever. i've touched on this a bit in the previous entry of the beautiful world, but there are around 21 routes in this game of varying lengths, tones, and content. the varying experience people'll have is absolutely based off this LOL. there have been a few routes that i absolutely hated, and a good number of routes that i've absolutely loved.

the route that i think is absolutely the most phenomenal route is, unsurprisingly, the "2nd scenario" route, which people usually call the truth route, and i will also be saying that. this route is the one that leaves no stone unturned: you will find out the truth behind the school, the students, and the world. it's also definitely the route that i think most perfectly expresses the overall theme of the game.

the ending absolutely made me cry, and rewatching it also still makes me tear up. it's an incredibly beautiful story, and by no means is it the "golden" route, and i think that makes it even more poignant. i don't even want to say more about it because i don't want to say anything else that would potentially be like spoiler adjacent.

when i heard that kodaka wants to make more routes via dlc, i honestly popped the fuck off. i hope they go even more insane. i hope they bring in transfer students. i hope shit goes off the rails even more hilariously. GO CRAZY!!!

game: fire emblem shadows

i know that how i ordered this in the blog post description would imply that hsr should be after hundred line but idgaf. it's my post. you're just living in it. fire emblem shadows is probably the strangest release from nintendo in recent memory. yesterday, on a random wednesday, nintendo released a Real-time Autochess PvP Social Deduction Tactical RPG game named Fire Emblem Shadows. that is not an incorrect moniker btw.

strangest of all is that the game is actually pretty fun. the game is made of two rounds: you and two others fight against some enemies while a traitor secretly uses attacks to sabotage, and then once those enemies are defeated, you guess who the traitor is. if you're right, you get +2 lives, and if you're wrong, you only get +1. then, the traitor turns into a beast, and you fight until either the traitor and their minions die or the good guys lose all their lives.

each game is just like 3 minutes or so. it's really very casual. i don't usually like games that are pure matchmaking pvp, but this is like so casual and so quick that i don't feel quite as much of the reluctance.

between the time i started writing this post and then forgot to keep writing and then started writing again, the court of public opinion seems to have shifted to "FUCK YES" which i'm glad about. i think this game could have easily stayed in the shitbooks forever because of how unique the concept is, so i'm glad she's getting the recognition she deserves.

if you like fire emblem, genuinely you might like this game so give it a shot!!

game: honkai star rail

UGHHHHH honkai star rail's latest patch was finally a patch focused on the astral express crew and my ass loves the astral express crew... it was sooo good... the twists were so fun and dan heng's new design is SO awesome and evernight makes me feel sickly and unwell.

i wasn't planning on pulling for evernight and then my partner got her and i watched him play with her and i heard her voicelines and unfortunately i broke but fortunately momo got INSANELY lucky for me so i got her and a fu xuan in the same ten pull (fu xuan second so i have guarantee) and then the lc in the first ten pull. so now i still have a good amount saved for dan heng but i also have evernight. she's so cool and awesome.

game: balatro

i started playing this because northernlion's roguelike videos are like propaganda to me and i wanted to start playing some for some fun little time killing and there's a reason why this game created a roguelike boom. it's very simple and easy to understand, and really satisfying to get a good setup going. i'm oscillating between "i'm literally the best to ever do it" and "i need to retire", so i think it's well balanced.

i'm considering getting it on my phone because it would be such a good game to play on the toilet or while watching something on netflix lowkey...

if you haven't played balatro and you like roguelikes then stop being weird and give it a shot!!

tv show: suits

my bf and i started watching suits a while back and honestly it's kind of crazy how consistently good the first few seasons are. when i started writing this blog post i definitely was enjoying it more than i am now, like i think the further in you get the more it starts to get a little bit degraded (probably just from the writers not knowing where to go next tbqh) but it's still a pretty fun show.

it's about corporate lawyers in new york city working at a firm called pearson hardman, i think. the name changes a lot and i can't remember what it was at the start. the main main character, mike ross, has a photographic memory and also has not gone to law school, but one of the other main characters, harvey specter, likes his gumption and hires him as an associate anyway (despite the fact that the firm only hires from harvard) and then they act like he totally did go to harvard.

antics ensue. lots of drama happens because of the fact that pretending to be a harvard educated lawyer who passed the bar is actually illegal, or whatever. honestly this show makes me feel crazy sometimes like if i had a friend who was an awesome lawyer and then they were like "yeah i actually didn't ever go to harvard and i lied about it to the world" i'd be like well damn that's impressive. maybe i'm just built different but everyone on this show is like personally offended. i guess i'm just chill like that.

anyway all that is to say, if you want a fun time killer show, suits can be that for you. my bf and i started watching it because my mom doesn't like meghan markle and meghan markle is a main character in this show and then we actually just liked the show. ok well my bf had actually watched some of it before but we started our together-watch of it because of my mom not liking meghan markle. whatever.

looking forward

i'm looking forward to pokemon legends za so much that i'm like radioactive. my bestie and i are messaging back and forth every day like LESS THAN A WEEK AWAY!!! and we are severely unwell. after i play pokemon i think i will definitely have a review for that at some point. i still want to write a hundred line review and i think i might have had enough time pass to where my brain can process it enough to write a review.

also i'm going to visit my parents for the weekend for thanksgiving dinner. last thanksgiving my parents were living in australia, so my bf and i are looking forward to it!!

let's all have fun and enjoy things! like pokemon legends za!
