spring has sprong

spring has been seeping into my veins and love and light has re-entered my body. i used to be a huge winter fan, and to an extent i still am, but man when that spring air hits... it hits... i still love winter fashion and snow, but when it's not cold enough for snow, and all you have is dead trees and winter fashion and darkness at 5pm, it starts to feel like the cons miiiiiight not outweigh the pros, most unfortunately.

it's actually lowkey crazy how much more motivated i am when it's not winter though, like i reorganized my room and made way more space and tidied up, and it's so nice now. i think i'm gonna get more shelves because i want to have more trinkets and such on my walls. i also might get a command hook because i have a persona 3 evoker where the trigger would make it really easy to hang.

new job!

i started a new job this month! i was mostly just studying stuff while waiting for my work laptop, and now i have my work laptop, and it's kind of awesome. i worked at a small place before, so i had been using my own computer for work, but now i get to use a macbook, and it feels like i'm a real business guy. i'm in compsci, not business, though, so i'm not a real business guy, but you get the point.

new phone!

i got a new phone because my plan was basically done, and i had been wanting one of the touch screen flip phones since forever, and i finally got one, and it's actually so awesome. it's the z flip 6 and it's so cute. i feel like the consumer when i talk about liking this phone, but my old phone was kind of a piece of garbage (sorry to pixel phones but the fact they were cheap was kind of the only thing they had going for them and now they don't really have that going for them).

i have a cute little layout with my boyfriend on it. also this phone runs way better than my old one, and i'm kind of addicted to taking pictures in the closed mode.

things i've been enjoying lately!

anyway, here's some stuff i've been enjoying lately!

games: tribe nine

tribe nine chapter 3 came out since the last post!!! i binged it all in one night and the story was SO good. i can't really go into specifics because i don't want to spoil, but man. i really loved the theme of the chapter, and i think the antagonist's role in that theming was phenomenal and awesome. i'm obsessed with how the twist feeds into the theme. this chapter also further made me fascinated with zero and how he fits into the story as a whole.

i did also just see how dismal the revenue was for phones in april though, so i really hope that the game can survive. i get why the revenue is pretty rough though - the game is really really generous with the pulls, and the endgame isn't really difficult enough to require duplicates of a character.

i hope the game can survive until the story ends at least!

games: honkai star rail

i will not lie or hide. i started playing honkai star rail because it not only runs on this phone at a stable framerate but it also can do good graphics settings. the game looked so insanely ugly on my old phone that i was like wow. i can't play a game that's this ugly. but now i can play the game NOT ugly.

and it's actually a great phone game!! not gonna lie, the biggest thing keeping me away from genshin/zenless zone zero are that they're more action-focused games and i don't want to play that on my phone. star rail is turn based so i think it works way way better, and i'm having a lot of fun with it. i also like how star rail has more guy characters because i like men.

i'm currently in the penacony arc, and i heard it was peak, and i'm glad to report that it absolutely is peak. all of the new characters are really interesting, and i really like the mystery aspect, and the theme of casinos and dreams and lies.

my current team is caelus, gallagher, anaxa, and dr ratio. i just got anaxa yesterday because the banner was yesterday, and he's so fun to use and combos so well with dr ratio. i also got pretty lucky with relics on him, so his gear is pretty decent. i do hate that the echo of war drops are limited to 3 per week because i can't unlock his traces so i just have to sit here and wait and there's absolutely nothing i can do to get his traces any faster...

overall i honestly have been really surprised by hsr!! the gameplay is deeper than i was expecting, the team building is a lot of fun, and the story and characters are way way better than i was expecting.

shows: the residence

my bf and i started watching the residence in our endless struggle to find something to watch (there is LITERALLYYYYYY nothing on netflix. <- i'm obsessed with saying this), and it was actually so fun. i think that you could probably figure out the culprit if you really tried, but i do think that it's a bit too long of a mystery/show for it to be something you'd really want to do (just because there's a lot going on), but that's honestly not really a point against it, just something to note.

the residence is a shonda rhimes show so, as usual, the dialogue, character writing, and cinematography are all extremely dynamic and fun to watch. there's no cliffhanger so you can easily just enjoy this as a fun little watch!!!

games: animal crossing new horizons

i've played acnh before!! but something about the way the spring breeze was hitting made me think i wanted to play a cozy little decoration game. honestly, i think acnh might be my ideal graphical style for a cozy game. it's somewhat cartoonish, but with lighting that's somewhere between realistic and plastic, and it's really so comfy. people hate on this game for being boring now but they just don't see the beauty in the simple things...

let's enjoy the spring

it's crazy how even just chilling inside hits better when it's beautiful and spring outside. every year around spring i get in a very homestuck kind of mood, so i'm probably going to continue my reread some time very soon. have a nice spring!!
